The PAC Mozaik Closet Library and Mozaik's stock Closets V12 can both build similar closets, but they differ in setup time, not capability. Closets V12 is a capable starting point that you configure yourself; the PAC library from Phill Anton Consulting arrives plug-and-play — hardware, materials, hinges, a large pre-built section library, construction methods, joint fasteners, modular sizing, and pricing templates are all chosen and configured for you, saving an estimated 20-40 hours of training and setup.
What is the PAC Closet Library, in one sentence?
It is a paid Mozaik library from Phill Anton Consulting built on shared panel, full line bore, half overlay construction, organized into closets and sections. It targets Mozaik 14 and ships pre-configured so a shop can go from install to manufacturing quickly, where the stock Closets V12 requires you to build much of that setup yourself.
How does the PAC library compare to the default Closets V12?
Both can produce a comparable closet — Phill is explicit that he is "not knocking the V12." The difference is how you get there:
- Closets V12 (default): Ships some panels, floor-mount sections, wall-mount sections, closet cabinets (typically for islands), and 90-degree corner sections. It works and is "decent," but there is "a lot you still have to set up" — hardware selection, boring specs, pricing, modular sizing, and construction details are on you.
- PAC Closet Library: The same kinds of pieces, but pre-built, organized, and "stacked." Phill estimates matching the V12 to the PAC setup by hand takes roughly 20-40 hours of training (maybe 10-20 if you push it), and even then you won't fully match it unless you feed all those panels into the trainer.
Bottom line: the same outcome is achievable in V12; the PAC library removes the hours and the "hard lessons" of doing it yourself.
What hardware and settings come pre-configured?
- A settings template so room settings are set up after install (Phill walks this during the one-hour setup).
- Door materials and hinges (pick from a few), all prefixed _PAC so they're easy to find.
- Richelieu 828 hybrid slides (hardwood or metal).
- Fasteners pre-selected — Phill calls out that the value here is largely that the boring spec and the actual hardware choices are already made for you.
- A public closet hardware and accessories source list on phillanton.com with the links to buy the hardware (you don't need to own the library to use that list).
What's in the product library?
A large, "just enough" catalog (organized to flow without being overwhelming):
- Floor-standing panels broken into 84", 87", and 96" (change the height to reach 108"). Continuous toe is built into the panels via Job Parameters and can be toggled on/off; LEDs are built in (left, right, and both) with pricing already in them, plus back-to-back (non-staggered) suggestions.
- Floor-standing sections (e.g. the 96" group has plenty without being overwhelming).
- Wall-mounted panels and sections.
- Islands as full boxes or panels-in-sections — 36" and 42" tall; 14", 16", 19", 24" deep.
- Upper stacks with separators and LED separators.
- Hutch bases and uppers, bench panels/sections, desk panels.
- Sub-assemblies / order-tab items: notch ceiling trim (credited to Nick Frost), linear crown, 8 ft toe, under-cabinet, and a corner true-left shelf-and-rod.
What about construction methods, modular sizing, and Job Parameters?
- Construction method + modular sizes carry big value for training a new employee (or yourself) and for going straight to manufacturing. The note here is practical: once you "off-road" with a basic library and adjust a panel incorrectly, your outriggers and CAM connectors can shift out of the line bore — the PAC setup avoids that.
- Job Parameters / "other" category: all LED parameters are controlled in the "other" category, so you set inserts and panels in one place instead of per-panel. A toe-reduce and continuous-toe-notch parameter sit here, along with a hang notch skin so a hang-rail for wall-hung cabinets doesn't cut all the way through. Some custom parameters sit in the background.
- Streamlined toggles: turn on 3D, full backs (backs come in as inserts), and fasteners right from Job Parameters.
- Modular sizing (Libraries and Products → Modular Sizing) ships the face heights and depths needed for modular heights to work; Phill deliberately skips modular widths.
What about inserts, joint fasteners, and pricing?
- Insert library is well stocked: back closet inserts, Häfele adjustable LED shelves, and an automatic shoe-fence adjuster (Phill values the shoe fence around $180; there's a separate video).
- Joint fasteners are extensively built out — you rarely interact with them, but they're there. A "no flip-ops" joint-fastener variant is included as a perk (you can set that up in stock Mozaik, but it takes a bit of work).
- Pricing templates — four are included. Pricing is something you'd otherwise spend hours configuring; Phill says you can instead understand it in about 20 minutes during setup.
When should I just use Closets V12 vs buy the PAC library?
- Stick with Closets V12 if you build closets only occasionally, enjoy configuring your own hardware/pricing/sections, or want to learn the system from the ground up. It's capable and Mozaik has good closet trainers.
- Get the PAC Closet Library if you build closets regularly and want to skip 20-40 hours of setup, avoid the "hard lessons" (e.g. shifting line bore), and go from install to manufacturing fast. It also includes a free training hour with Phill and is positioned to pair with a forthcoming PAC 3D design app for dealer networks.

FAQ
Can I build the same closets with the default Mozaik Closets V12 library?
Yes — you can drag out and build a similar closet with the stock Closets V12 library, but not in the same plug-and-play manner. Phill Anton Consulting estimates roughly 20-40 hours of training and setup to reach the same result, versus the PAC Closet Library having it pre-built and ready to manufacture.
What does the PAC Closet Library set up for me that Closets V12 doesn't?
A settings template (room defaults, _PAC-prefixed door materials and hinges, Richelieu 828 hybrid slides), a large pre-built product library of floor/wall/island/upper/hutch/bench/desk panels and sections, construction methods, joint fasteners, modular sizing, and pricing templates — all chosen and configured for you.
