Full-Box Island Parameters in Mozaik (PAC Closet Library)

Phill Anton |

Full-box islands in the PAC Closet Library for Mozaik are controlled almost entirely from Job Parms plus one Settings pick. With the 3D viewer open you edit a small set of parameters and watch the island update live: four Job Parms switch the island between Axilo adjustable feet and a floor-standing toe, and a per-cabinet override lets you notch the toe so the doubled-up partition look disappears on the front.

What is a "full-box" island in the PAC Closet Library?

A full-box island is the style where each section is a complete box — top, bottom, and sides — rather than the shared panel-and-section style. Phill shows it cracked open in wireframe: it is "just a box," joined with Titus, and it still gets full line bore plus the front guide pilot holes. Because each box is self-contained, adjacent boxes can read as a "doubled-up" partition on the front (two ends side by side).

How do I set up full-box islands to use Axilo feet?

Open the 3D viewer and keep it open while you work in the Products tab so you can change Job Parms and see them update in real time (turn on Show Operations if operations aren't appearing). In Job Parms, set these four:

  • FloorNo
  • Toe SkinOn (not required, but better for visuals)
  • Continuous ToeYes
  • Use LegsYes

Then go to the Settings tab → Miscellaneous and make sure the PAC full Axilo leg is selected (you can use whatever leg leveler you prefer).

How do I keep Axilo feet from colliding with the Titus?

Make sure the leg levelers aren't sitting right on top of a Titus fastener. Phill changes the leg position to clear it, and notes he may cover that in a separate video.

How do I turn the Axilo feet off (floor-standing instead)?

Again open the 3D viewer to watch the change, then flip the same four Job Parms:

  • FloorYes — the ends come down to the ground. On full boxes the ends are doubled up at the floor; Phill is fine sending them out that way.
  • Continuous ToeNo
  • Toe SkinOff
  • Use LegsNo

You don't have to disable the legs in Settings unless you specifically want them off. The result looks like the panel-and-section version, except with doubled-up sections, and the toes sit back with outriggers and full line bore.

How do I notch the toe so the front doesn't show the doubled-up look?

If the doubled-up partition look on the front bothers you, override a single cabinet to a continuous (one-piece) toe. Open that cabinet and set its end to notch the toe — Phill does this on one cabinet so the front reads as one continuous toe instead of two ends meeting. It takes a few extra seconds per cabinet.

What are the toe / toe-skin display options?

After notching, you have these front-toe choices, all visualized in the 3D viewer:

  • Leave the toes (Phill would call the small ones sub-toes) showing.
  • Turn off the toes if you don't want to send them out with the sub-toes.
  • Full toe skin — in Job Parms set Toe Skin → Yes to add another layer in front of the sub-toes.
  • Setting Continuous Toe → Off with Toe Skin → On gives the clean continuous look in the 3D viewer.

What if the island's Job Parms conflict with my other cabinets?

If the island parameters in Job Parms conflict with your other cabinets, you have two options: get some training so you can work through it, or go into the Parameters tab on the specific product and override any of these values manually per cabinet.

How are full-box islands assembled?

Phill outlines the build order (he says a separate video covers the full build): build it flat on its back. Put the back on the floor, install the Titus fasteners (Titus outriggers or Rafix, whatever you're using), then put the sides onto the back, drop the studs into the sides and lock them, add the studs to the top of the sides, then the bottom. Order: back → sides → top → bottom. Finally add the Axilo legs and stand it up.

You can set this up by hand (above). If you build these regularly, the PAC Mozaik Closet Library from PAC has it ready in Mozaik. → phillanton.com

FAQ

Which Job Parms make a full-box PAC island use Axilo feet in Mozaik?
In the PAC Closet Library, Phill checks four parameters in Job Parms: Floor set to No, Toe Skin on (for visuals, optional), Continuous Toe set to Yes, and Use Legs set to Yes. Then in Settings → Miscellaneous he selects the PAC full Axilo leg.

How do I turn the Axilo feet off on a full-box island in Mozaik?
Change the four Job Parms the other way: Floor to Yes (ends come to the floor), Continuous Toe to No, Toe Skin off, and Use Legs to No. You do not have to disable legs in Settings unless you want to.

Why can't I select a section on a full-box island in Mozaik?
The red bounding boxes are intersecting and confusing the picker. Raise that cabinet's elevation temporarily (Phill adds +50), select the section you need, then put the elevation back.
